About the company

Founded in 2018 amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Uttarakhand’s Himalayan province, Namakwali emerged as a tribute to the rich culinary heritage of the region. A collective effort led by the skilled hands of women from diverse Uttarakhand communities, they came together to unveil the timeless flavours of their ancestors through the traditional “silbatta” (Stone grinder).

Meticulously handpicking each herb and spice from the lofty altitudes of the Uttarakhand Himalayas, they ensured that every ingredient possessed not just flavour but also a plethora of health benefits, boasting 100% organic purity. The journey of crafting this ancestral salt is as enchanting as the product itself. Gathered in the cozy courtyards of their homes, these remarkable women share moments of joy and laughter as they grind the salt, infusing it with traditional melodies and boundless affection, sealing each package with the warmth and care reminiscent of home.

Their passion didn’t end with salts alone. Determined to extend the essence of Uttarakhandi flavours to a wider audience, they ventured into cultivating a variety of organic products, employing traditional farming methods devoid of harmful chemicals or fertilizers. Namakwali’s vision extends far beyond borders, aiming to bring the unparalleled taste and health benefits of Himalayan village produce to consumers worldwide.
